This Meccan Sura may well be considered as a pendant to the last. If the Quraish were fond of Mecca and proud if it, if they profited, by its central position and its guaranteed security, from their caravans of trade and commerce, let them be grateful, adore the One True Allah, and accept His Message.
C.286-(Verses 1 to 4)-Who gave the Quraish their talents for the arts of peace, for trade and commerce, and for journeys south and north at proper seasons, and made their home inviolable in Mecca? Surely they, if any, should adore their Lord and listen to His Message of Unity and Truth.
106:1 SURA 106. Quraish or The Quraish, (Custodians of the Kaba). In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. For the covenants (of security and safeguard enjoyed) by the Quraish,
106:2 Their covenants (covering) journeys by winter and summer, --
106:3 Let them adore the Lord of this House,
106:4 Who provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear (of danger).
